About Laura

Laura was a teacher for eighteen years at various grade levels, with most of her experience with middle school and high school students. Fourteen years as a special education teacher and then another four years as a general educator. When she was teaching, Laura also coached cross country and track.

She and her husband moved to Alabama over a year ago and are loving it.  They have two daughters; both are attending colleges in Kentucky.  Her hobbies include hiking, swimming, reading, and pampering her pets (one dog and one cat).  For Laura, she says, “hiking and swimming are ways for me to appreciate nature and breathe easy.”

Her favorite foods are chocolate, pizza, apple pie. (And on that note, she has a list of foods running through her head!)
