Alexis Williams is an educator whose work connects classroom practice, curriculum accessibility, special education, school coordination, and program implementation. She earned a Master of Science in education, curriculum and instruction, from Western Governors University in 2013; bachelor’s degrees in elementary education and special education from Western Governors University in 2011; and an Associate of Science in general studies from Gadsden State Community College in 2007, graduating with highest honors.
She is a National Board Certified Exceptional Needs Specialist and holds Alabama credentials in special education for prekindergarten through grade 12 and elementary education for kindergarten through grade six. Her professional preparation also includes LETRS literacy training and Managing Crisis Safely training. She has worked in public education since 2011, including in Cullman County Schools since 2014, and has contributed to Life That Counts grant and curriculum development since 2016. Her broader professional experience includes scoring and supervisory responsibilities connected with National Board assessment.
For Life That Counts, Alexis helps turn a program plan into a workable school experience. Her responsibilities may include scheduling, coordination with school contacts, curriculum review, accessibility and comprehension, adult line-of-sight, make-up planning, communication with families and school personnel, documentation, and follow-up with facilitators. Her perspective is especially useful when a program must be understandable to students with different learning needs while remaining practical for educators to support.
Alexis serves as a bridge between curriculum design and school implementation.
