Brian McKenney

Brian McKenney is a program facilitator whose experience is rooted in practical, relationship-based work with young people and families. He has served as a foster parent through Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes since 2019 and has supported children and families through foster care without treating their private stories as public program material. From 2019 through 2026, he served as a group-home parent. From 2021 through 2026, he served as a Certified Foster Parent Master Trainer and held a certificate to teach MAPPS Foundations classes.

Brian’s background also includes service as a CASA of Cullman County case manager from 2024 through 2025 and operational roles in public-school settings, including student transportation, maintenance, and daily contact with school communities. He is a graduate of West Point High School. These roles have given him experience with consistency, boundaries, communication, safety, and the ordinary routines through which trust is built.

In field leadership, Brian has supervised a team of late-teen and young-adult workers, coaching communication, responsibility, accountability, work habits, and problem-solving alongside project execution. That combination of mentoring and practical leadership informs his work with Life That Counts.

As a program facilitator, Brian helps create structured, respectful settings in which young people can think about decisions, relationships, responsibility, and the future. He brings calm presence and clear expectations while respecting the authority of schools, parents and caregivers, and designated support professionals. He is not presented as a counselor, clinician, or independent evaluator.
